CRFA Update

The Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category is now permanent in the Provincial Nominee Immigration (PNP) program, which is good news for B.C. members with temporary foreign workers – you can now nominate them to become permanent immigrants, if you wish.

CRFA action

More than three years ago, CRFA successfully lobbied the B.C. government to include an entry level and semi-skilled occupation pilot category in its PNP program. In a July meeting with PNP officials, CRFA learned that over the three-year pilot 2,829 low-skilled hospitality industry nominees represented a third of those approved. Additionally, low-skilled hospitality industry applications received an 81 per cent approval rate.

CRFA used this information along with labour market outlook statistics to successfully push the pilot program through as a permanent PNP category.
