It’s people on both sides of the equation that makes our industry go ‘round. From students finding their first job to the CEO’s at national chains, it’s always about the service you get and the customers you keep.  Here’s a look at the people behind the numbers: 

  1. Average party size at a QSR: 1.6
  2. Average party size at an FSR: 2.3
  3. Share of QSR customers under the age of 18: 19%
  4. Share of FSR customers under the age of 18: 14%
  5. Female share of restaurant customers: 52%
  6. Female share of foodservice employees: 60%
  7. Average number of visits to a restaurant in Canada every day: 17,898,022
  8. Number of foodservice employees in Canada: 1,090,600
  9. Share of foodservice employees under the age of 25: 44%
  10. Average number of foodservice workers per unit: 10.6
  11. Share of foodservice workers 55 years of age or older in 1995:  5%
  12. Share of foodservice workers 55 years of age or older in 2010:  9%
