Stricter drinking and driving penalties for New Brunswick
June 20, 2011
CRFA Update
Starting June 24, the suspension period for New Brunswick drivers with blood alcohol content (BAC) between 0.05 and 0.08 will increase from 24 hours to seven days. Note this is not a Criminal Code offence and will not appear on the driver’s record.
This legislation was passed by the previous government last year. Most provinces have penalties for drivers with a BAC level greater than 0.05.
